Behind the experience.
On the Alentejo coast, a leadership team had seven days to consider the next three years. The programme made room for the work, the rest and one another.
The brief
The next three years needed more than another hour in the diary.
This executive team was looking for distance from the office and from calendars that kept breaking important conversations into small pieces. The client wanted a full week of working sessions and genuine rest, in a place none of the attendees had been.
The task was to give them somewhere to think properly. Somewhere the afternoon did not have to feel like an extension of the meeting room.
The experience
Two neighbouring estates on the Alentejo coast became the setting for a steady daily rhythm. Mornings held the working sessions. Afternoons stayed open, with time the team could use for themselves.
Dinner gave each day a different ending: dunes, a rice field, a cork forest. A change of setting could carry the evening into another register without asking the group to begin a whole new programme.
Together, those choices gave the week a shape that could hold serious work and a little unhurried company. The client's ambition remained at its centre; every arrangement had to make that ambition easier to live inside.
On the ground
Twelve people supported the transfers, sessions and dinners. Every attendee had a printed itinerary and a named host. Announced moments had already been rehearsed, so the practical questions had somewhere to go before reaching the group.
There was nothing casual about protecting an open afternoon.
Transport, settings and service still needed exact attention. That attention stayed with the production team, giving the client room to lead the conversations they had come to have, and the people around them room to rest.
